Welcome to Knowlina ("Knowlina," the "App," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the App, website, content, features, subscriptions, and related services.
By creating an account, accessing the App, or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Who Can Use the App
Knowlina is designed for children and families. A parent or legal guardian must create, authorize, and manage use of the App where required by law. If the App is directed to children under 13, or if we have actual knowledge that we are collecting personal information from a child under 13, additional legal requirements may apply, including parental consent requirements under COPPA.
By using the App, you represent and warrant that:
- you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or
- you are the parent or legal guardian of the child using the App and you accept these Terms on the child's behalf.
Parent Account and Child Profiles
To access certain features, a parent or legal guardian may need to create an account. The parent account may be used to create and manage one or more child profiles.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information and to keep it updated.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the security of your account credentials;
- all activity under your account and linked child profiles;
- supervising your child's use of the App;
- managing settings, permissions, notifications, and purchases.
We may suspend or terminate accounts or profiles that violate these Terms or create safety, fraud, legal, or operational risks.
Educational Purpose
Knowlina is provided for educational and entertainment purposes. We aim to help children learn through missions, tasks, rewards, and progress tracking, but we do not guarantee any particular academic, school, developmental, or learning outcome.
App Features
The App may include, among other features:
- learning worlds, topics, and missions;
- tasks, quizzes, matching, sequencing, simulations, and system-based activities;
- parent dashboards and progress summaries;
- virtual rewards such as coins, stars, gems, XP, badges, or streaks;
- leaderboards, comparisons, and challenge features;
- subscriptions and family plans;
- notifications, reminders, and safety controls.
We may add, remove, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for unlawful or unauthorized purposes;
- interfere with, damage, or disrupt the App or its systems;
- attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or exploit the App or any part of it;
- use bots, scripts, automation, or unauthorized tools;
- manipulate scores, rewards, missions, quests, or leaderboards;
- create fake accounts or profiles;
- upload, submit, or transmit harmful, offensive, abusive, unlawful, or infringing content;
- attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization;
- bypass parental controls, safety controls, or usage limits.
We may investigate and take action against misuse, including suspension or termination.
Child Safety and Age-Appropriate Experience
We aim to provide a child-friendly, age-appropriate experience. Some features may be limited, modified, or disabled to support safety, privacy, platform compliance, or age suitability.
If the App is distributed in Apple's Kids category or similar child/family channels, additional platform rules may apply. Apple states that Kids Category apps may not send personally identifiable information or device information to third parties, and should not include third-party analytics or third-party advertising. Google Play also requires child-appropriate handling for apps designed for children and families.
Privacy and Children's Data
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and delete personal information.
Where required by law, we will request parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children. COPPA gives parents control over certain information collected from children under 13. Parents may have rights, depending on applicable law, to review, correct, delete, or withdraw consent regarding a child's information.
Parental Consent
If required by law, we may ask a parent or legal guardian to complete a consent process before a child may use certain features. We may suspend or limit a child profile if required parental authorization is missing, incomplete, withdrawn, or cannot be reasonably verified.
Subscriptions, Plans, Billing, and Renewal
The App may offer paid subscriptions, including monthly, yearly, and family plans.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize the applicable app store or payment provider to charge your selected payment method.
Unless otherwise stated:
- subscriptions renew automatically until canceled;
- cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current billing period;
- pricing, trial offers, promotions, and plan features may change;
- taxes may apply where required.
If you purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play, billing, renewals, cancellations, and some refund processes may be governed by that platform's rules and policies.
Virtual Rewards and In-App Items
The App may use virtual items and progress indicators, including coins, stars, gems, XP, streaks, badges, levels, and similar rewards.
Unless we explicitly state otherwise:
- they are virtual only;
- they have no cash value;
- they are not redeemable for money or property;
- they are non-transferable;
- they may not be sold, traded, or exchanged;
- they may be modified, reset, reduced, revoked, or discontinued if needed for fairness, abuse prevention, product balance, technical changes, or service updates.
Leaderboards and Comparisons
The App may include ranking, comparison, leaderboard, or challenge features. These may show limited profile information such as first name, avatar, country, XP, level, or similar progress indicators.
We may change how rankings are calculated, displayed, grouped, reset, or limited at any time.
Parents are responsible for deciding whether such features are appropriate for their child and for managing related settings where available.
User Content and Feedback
If the App allows profile names, avatars, messages, feedback, support requests, or other submissions, you retain ownership of your content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify, and display that content only as needed to operate, improve, secure, and support the App.
You represent that any content you provide:
- is lawful;
- does not violate anyone's rights;
- is appropriate for a family-friendly environment.
We may remove content that violates these Terms.
Intellectual Property
The App and all related materials, including software, content, tasks, lessons, missions, text, graphics, sounds, designs, icons, artwork, mascots, logos, and branding, are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may use the App only for personal, non-commercial use unless we give written permission otherwise.
You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, modify, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any part of the App without our prior written consent.
Updates and Service Changes
We may release updates, patches, fixes, improvements, or new versions of the App. Some features may require you to install updates to continue using the App.
We may also change:
- lesson structure;
- missions and tasks;
- reward systems;
- subscription plans;
- user interface;
- availability by region, platform, or age group.
Availability and Technical Issues
We try to keep the App available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
The App may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, updates, connectivity issues, platform issues, device limitations, or events outside our control.
Termination and Suspension
You may stop using the App at any time.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, child profile, subscription access, or use of the App if:
- you violate these Terms;
- we believe there is fraud, misuse, or safety risk;
- required consent is missing or withdrawn;
- payment is not completed;
- we are required to do so by law;
- continuing service would create legal, compliance, or operational risk.
Upon termination, rights granted to you under these Terms end immediately, except as required by law.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that:
- the App will always be available, secure, or error-free;
- every mission, feature, or reward will always remain available;
- progress metrics will always be perfectly accurate;
- the App will meet every expectation or educational goal.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of the App.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or
- USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from:
- your misuse of the App;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of applicable law;
- content or information you submit through the App;
- your infringement of another person's rights.
Location and Region-Based Features
The App may use location-related information to provide an age-appropriate and region-appropriate experience, including language settings, country or region availability, local legal compliance, time zone-based reminders, subscription availability, and leaderboard or challenge grouping.
Unless a feature clearly asks for precise location permission, Knowlina does not need exact GPS location to operate core learning features. If precise location is ever requested, we will ask for permission through the device or platform settings where required, and parents may manage or disable location permissions through their device settings.
Location-related information may be based on account settings, device settings, IP-derived approximate location, selected country, language, or time zone. We do not allow children to publicly share precise location information through the App.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding its conflict of laws principles.
Subject to applicable law, the state and federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware, USA will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights or protections you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App, by email, through the website, or by another reasonable method.
Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
